Liaison Officers and Representatives
to Other Professional Organizations
RSS affiliates itself with Professional Organizations to achieve its mission. These relationships include other professional associations like the American Sociological Association and consortia of associations and individuals with a specific and related mission to that of the RSS. The Society appoints a representative to each of these organizations to foster active collaboration and increase communication. In some cases, like that with COSSA, the affiliation is quite active and separate programs are planned in which RSS plays a role on the same level as other, related associations, and it is directed at affecting policy and resource allocation decisions for social science research. In each relationship, the RSS representative is expected to provide a short report of activities and how this relationship benefits RSS members on an annual basis.
