Panel Submission
We invite groups of individuals to submit panel proposals that highlight original research, applied work, or innovative conversations advancing the understanding of rural societies and rural issues. Panels should explore significant topics relevant to rural social structures, communities, environments, economies, policies, equity, or well‑being from sociological perspectives. All proposed panels should include the session organizer, and 3-4 panelists.
All rural sociological topics are welcome. Topics related to the conference theme are especially encouraged. We encourage panels with a variety of perspectives.
Submissions are due February 15, 2026.

Workshops should be highly interactive, offering attendees hands‑on opportunities to learn new methodologies, practice applied skills, explore tools or datasets, or collaborate around shared challenges in rural scholarship or community‑based work. While some didactic content is acceptable, the primary emphasis should be on engagement, participation, and practical application.
Workshop Focus Areas
Workshops may address a wide range of topics relevant to rural sociologists.
