Ralph B. Brown Scholar Paper Competition Awarding Excellence in Rural Community Research
Award Overview
Invites papers exploring community satisfaction, leadership, social change, and family and community dynamics, with a focus on rural life and health. International research is encouraged, especially studies examining how rural communities adapt to scientific, economic, or health-related challenges.
Eligibility
- Faculty and non-academic researchers who have an advanced degree.
- Current member of RSS
Requirements
- 25–35-page paper to include a relevant review of the literature, original analysis or effort to advance community theory, a clear discussion and set of conclusions, and complete references. (Manuscripts may be co-authored if the person submitting it is the primary author)
- Submitted abstract to present at the annual meeting
Award
- Complimentary registration to the annual meeting
- $150 in Award Funds
