Caregiver Grant Recognizes the importance of caregiving support to enable RSS Members to participate in the Annual Meeting
Grant Overview
The Rural Sociological Society, in partnership with its Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Committee, is offering caregiver grants of up to $300 to presenters at the RSS Annual Meeting to help offset caregiving responsibilities. These flexible grants are designed to support faculty and graduate students at critical career stages and enhance members’ ability to participate fully in the conference.

Eligibility
- Current member of RSS
- Preference will be given to graduate students, early-career professionals (those who graduated within the last 5 years), and non-tenure track faculty
- Active participant of the meeting by presenting a paper, participating on a panel or workshop, or presenting a poster
- Graduate student applicants must be pursuing a degree relevant to rural studies in an academic institution.
- Applicants from both academics and non-academics are encouraged.
Requirements
- Completed Caregiver Grant application submitted no later than Monday, April 20, 2026 at 11:59pm (PST)
- The JEDI Committee will announce decisions by Friday, May 15th, 2026
