JEDI Travel Grant Supports the attendance and participation of RSS Members historically underrepresented in RSS at the Annual Meeting
Grant Overview
The Rural Sociological Society, in collaboration with its Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Committee, is offering competitive travel grants to support the participation of members historically underrepresented in RSS at the 2026 Annual Meeting. These grants are designed to help offset costs associated with attending the conference.

Eligibility
- Current member of RSS
- Active participant of the meeting by presenting a paper, participating on a panel or workshop, or presenting a poster
- Graduate student applicants must be pursuing a degree relevant to rural studies in an academic institution.
- Applicants from both academics and non-academics are encouraged.
Requirements
- Completed JEDI Travel Grant application submitted no later than Monday, April 20, 2026 at 11:59pm (PST)
- The JEDI Committee will announce decisions by Friday, May 15th, 2026
Grant
- Minimum of $300 in grant funds, with final amounts and the number of recipients determined by application volume and demonstrated need.
