In view of this, the study wants to examine the role of rural women in contributing to economic prospects and how such economic activity affected food security in Nigeria. Specifically, emphasis on some rural women from two selected local government areas shall form the sample of this study. Going by the profile of rural women, this study will employ qualitative methods in eliciting information or data from respondents. Such data, as expected will be analysed through content analysis and where necessary, some striking and critical comments shall be quoted as supportive validation or otherwise to the theme of this study.
