Mentor-Mentee Connection Initiative Guided Pathways to Academic and Professional Success

The Rural Sociological Society is relaunching its Mentor–Mentee Connection Initiative! Designed to support graduate students and postdoctoral scholars as they prepare for and navigate the job market, our goal is to connect these junior scholars with experienced scholars and professionals who can offer informed, practical guidance on job search planning and career development.

Mentor–mentee pairs will be matched and connected prior to the Annual Meeting in Raleigh so that pairs can establish contact in advance. Mentees can seek advice on job market preparation, conference networking strategies, CV positioning, research framing, and how to use the meeting effectively for professional visibility. Attendance at the Annual Meeting is required for participation.
