Matt Brooks publishes article in Social Forces?
Matt Brooks, Charles B. Nam Assistant Professor in the Sociology of Population in the sociology department at Florida State University and Associate Director of the FSU Center for Demography and Population Health, recently published an article in Social Forces titled “Life and debt in rural America.” Brooks and his coauthor leveraged Consumer Expenditure Survey data to estimate rural-urban disparities in debt and wealth, as well as drivers of these disparities, especially in terms of race. In addition to other finds, place emerged as an extremely important dimension of wealth and debt.
