Shannon Monnat interviewed for Associated Press article
Shannon Monnat, current RSS president and professor of sociology and Lerner Chair in Public Health Promotion and Population Health at Syracuse University, was recently interviewed for an Associated Press article. Titled “Trump’s immigration crackdown divides rural voters as midterms approach, AP-KFF poll finds,” the article discusses rural opinions on the presidential administration’s immigration policies, which vary based on context. Monnat contributed knowledge as a demographer about how immigration has bolstered the population of rural areas, especially in terms of younger residents.
